Craftster user eternallyeve made this awesome stroller cover from flannel-backed vinyl tablecloths! Impressive! She also used the tablecloths to make a matching rain-repellent hood for herself.
The stroller cover has a window in the front (made from a recycled vinyl bag, like the ones that come with comforters or quilts), and a sunroof in the top. If you don’t have any of these laying around, pick up a bit of clear vinyl at the fabric store (use your 40% off coupon!).
She said: “The pram cover was drafted right onto the pram. All major seams on the cover are reinforced and it attaches with velcro over the handle bar, two small elastic loops low on either side and tucks under the foot with an elasticised bottom.”
Project Estimate:
- Flannel-backed vinyl tablecloth, $2
- Clear vinyl, on hand or $2-5
- Wire (to keep cover off baby and tented), on hand
- Sewing machine & thread, on hand
Total cost: $2 and up (if you only used one tablecloth for a monochromatic cover, it would only be $1!)

Holy Crapoly! That is the most money-saving item features on here so far (unless you count the “must-have” $200 keychain). Those things can’t be cheap- everything for babies is horrendously expensive.
