Reader Marcy from The Butterworth shared this simple but brilliant idea she had for creating vintage Santa art. She got all three of these works of art for a dollar. Can you figure out how? She happened to find some cardboard gift boxes with the Santa art on them and cleverly turned them into hanging art for her wall! If you can’t find already-printed gift boxes with the art you want on it, perhaps you can print out the art you want and Mod Podge it to a cardboard box? Also, this art is easy to store! When the holidays are over, take down the box, flatten, and put it in your Christmas storage box. Check out Marcy’s blog for the [Vintage Santa Art Tutorial].
Project Estimate:
- Cardboard gift boxes, 3 for $1
- Thumbtack, on hand
Total: $1

Found Dollar Store Crafts a few months back and have been browsing looking for Christmas ideas. I’d love to read the tutorial but the blog is invitation only – is there another way to get the instructions?

@stephanie: the only trick to this project is that they are pre-printed Christmas gift boxes. Marcy just punched a hole in the back of the box to hang it on the wall – easy!
