I am a sucker for these plastic pencil boxes (and their squat cousins, the index card box), and I love this project Amy at Living Locurto came up with: a memo box with custom to-do lists, pencils, and of course, a pretty bow. She also gives alternate suggestions for filling the box, if you aren’t keen on the notepaper idea: candy, gift cards, sunglasses, pretty socks, tea, and so on. Make a bunch of these up for Mother’s Day, or for a nice teacher’s gift. Amy also provides the free printable for the Super Mom lists! She’s awesome! [click here for project tutorial and printable]
Project Estimate:
- Plastic pencil box, $1
- Printed to-do lists, on hand or buy premade list for $1 (Target has good ones!)
- Ribbon, on hand
Total: $1 and up

Super cute!

These are a great idea! I’ve made something along these lines with paper, but pencil cases are much more durable and will hold up better in a purse!

Thanks for the awesome feature!! I just ran out and bought more of these containers at Staples… they are 2 for a $1 now.

I love it!

Just made three of these for Mothers’ Day! I bought the pencil boxes a couple months ago for $.33 each! I made my own notepad design to match my boxes since the only color they had was orange, but I am really happy with how they turned out. Thanks for the idea!
