First of all, I want to know where Nikki from Nikki’s Nifty Knacks shops, because she found some K&Company Amy Butler fabric tags and buttons at her favorite dollar store. Say what? That’s amazing. Then she found a sweatshirt for just one buck at her dollar store, too (I have actually seen those at my local Dollar Tree – amazing deal!). She combined the two to make a pretty embellished sweatshirt for less than $2. Perfect way to welcome fall, don’t you think? Thanks to Nikki for posting her great project at the Dollar Store Facebook page. [how to make an embellished sweatshirt]
If you aren’t lucky enough to find these Amy Butler supplies at your local dollar store, check your regular craft store, or buy a tiny bit of designer fabric at your local fabric store and add it to the sweatshirt the same way Nikki did. You can even use a freezer paper stencil to add an inspirational sentiment to your cute fabric.
Project Estimate:
- Sweatshirt, $1
- Fabric tags & button, $1
- Sewing stuff, on hand
Total: $2

Maybe it’s the dollar store called Mighty Dollar? My friend lives near one and has found the most amazing craft things there (for just $1 each)! Too bad they’re only in a few states …

Thanks for the feature!!!! :D
The dollar store where I found those is called “Dollar Superstore” and they have the most AMAZING stuff. I can spend hours there just digging. From Hallmark wrapping paper, to name brand scrapbooking supplies, its just incredible. I drive an hour each way to go there, but believe you me, its welllllllllllllllllllll worth it! ;)
