Over at The Stories of A to Z, Beth made a show-stopping faux capiz shell garland for her Christmas Tree, inspired by this chandelier. The garland costs next to nothing in supplies, but will take you a chunk of time to complete. The look is so earthy and ethereal (at the same time!) that you might want to try it, anyway [how to make a faux capiz shell garland]

Project Estimate:

Wax paper, on hand or $1 per roll
Circle punch, on hand
White thread, on hand
Glue gun, on hand

Total: $1 and up

@r: maybe if you did the thing where you iron crayon shavings between wax paper – do that first & then cut the circles out.
