Over at The Stories of A to Z, Beth made a show-stopping faux capiz shell garland for her Christmas Tree, inspired by this chandelier. The garland costs next to nothing in supplies, but will take you a chunk of time to complete. The look is so earthy and ethereal (at the same time!) that you might want to try it, anyway [how to make a faux capiz shell garland]
Project Estimate:
- Wax paper, on hand or $1 per roll
- Circle punch, on hand
- White thread, on hand
- Glue gun, on hand
Total: $1 and up
Bonus: my favorite quote from Beth’s post: “How could one go wrong if she took every single trend of 2010 and threw it on her tree? She couldn’t!”

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows how to make capiz garlands in different colors.
Thanks

@r: maybe if you did the thing where you iron crayon shavings between wax paper – do that first & then cut the circles out.
