What do you do when your drink is too hot to hold? Make it cozy! The fourth Iron Craft challenge of 2011 was “Get Cozy.” We stuck with the ‘stay warm’ theme we had going, and made coffee cozies. [See all the submissions from Iron Craft]

Rhonda Greene’s Submission: “Cup of Tea” Crocheted Mug Cozy

"Cup of Tea" Crocheted Mug Cozy by Rhonda GreeneRhonda crocheted her cozy and added an applique-and-embroidery teabag string and tag.

When she finished making it, she found it to be quite slippy on the mug. To eliminate the possibility of a disaster, she used shelf liner to give it a non-slip backing.

Melinda Hileman’s Submission: Quickly Customized Cup Cozy

Quickly Customized Cup CozyMelinda was away from home again this week, so she had limited supplies. When she went to the Dollar Tree, she picked up a set of these cup cozies. Two different sizes for $1! Then she raided grandma’s craft closet to just add a little embellishment. She added a ric-rac border to one, and a sequin border for the other.

See the can cozy Melinda made using other items from her grandma’s craft closet.
