This is one of those ideas that’s been bouncing around in my head for a long time.  I thought up the general concept but never quite got around to figuring out the mechanics.  Then I got the opportunity to guest post today at The CSI Project on the theme of spring and I knew it was perfect.  Introducing the Spring Cleaning flower vase!  [how to make a rubber dish glove vase]

Now, you can find rubber dish gloves at the dollar store, but for this project I would recommend forking out an extra buck or two for a more heavy-duty pair.  Also, if you put roses in your vase, make sure you remove any thorns to eliminate the risk of puncturing the gloves.

Project estimate:

  • Rubber dish gloves, $2
  • Large glass vase with flared lip, $1
  • Polyfill, on hand
  • Hair elastic, on hand
  • Glue, on hand

Total:  $3

If the glass portion of the vase looks familiar, it’s because I have several and I’ve used them in a few other projects:
