You should see me getting ready to leave the house. It’s downright comical the number of circles I run in to make sure I have everything in order before I walk out the door. (Okay, comical to everyone but me who can’t find my keys.) Miki from Miki’s Design knows this problem all too well, which led her to a unique solution. She used dollar store soup bowls (the kind that Dollar Tree sells in packages of two) to make easy and convenient wall storage nooks for near the door. They are the perfect size to hold toys, sunglasses, gloves, and other can’t-leave-home-without-it items. [how to make soup bowl wall storage nooks]
Project estimate:
- Plastic bowls, 2 for $1
- Sharp knife, on hand
- Spray paint, on hand or $1 and up
- Screws or nails, on hand or $1
Total: $1 and up

Such a cute idea. This would be great in a mudroom or entryway.

You could also screw them on to your fence as nest boxes for birds

The close-up photos show an edging or border added to the cut out portion of the bowls, but it isn’t addressed in the instructions. (It may be discussed in the comments, but I don’t know how to translate!) Any idea what was added to the bowl after the middle was cut out?

Lulu, you are absolutely right and I am sorry I forgot to include that part in the English translation. It’s a very small hose tube that I added to make the entry smoother. Not obligatory but since my kids use it as well, I wanted to be on the safe side.

You could also cut the bowls in half instead of making a hole and attach them. They would be good for the hallway as well as planters.
