I am in serious need of some decent jewelry storage. My earrings are currently mixed together in a drawer in my bathroom — not a very inspiring way to browse through them! One of our favorite fashion DIY’ers, Kirsten from Wild Amor created this professional-looking ring-style jewelry tray, and get this — she used up some of her old clothing and fabric stashes! All you need besides your fabric stash is a 1″ tall tray, and a bunch of hot glue. Sounds like a project we all can tackle! [how to make a ring tray]
You can sometimes find shadowbox-style trays at the dollar store, and you should have no problem finding a suitable tray at the thrift store, or maybe you already have one on hand. I have several wooden boxes that my kids’ toys came in that I have kept because they looked like good craft ingredients.
Project Estimate:
- Deep tray, $1
- Old clothes such as sweaters, sweatpants, hoodies, on hand
- Your choice of exterior fabric, on hand
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks, on hand
- Scissors
Project Estimate: $1
