button brooches

I love these cheap and cheerful button brooches designed by Andrea Currie over at Hand Make My Day. Andrea gave herself the challenge of crafting with three items she had on hand: buttons, garden wire, and safety pins, and these whimsical brooches were the result. I love Andrea’s practice of jump-starting creativity by giving herself a limited number of supplies to draw from. I think these brooches would cheer up any outfit, and bring a little spring to a grey day. Make a few and hand them out to unsuspecting friends and acquaintances to spread some cheer! You can get the garden wire at the dollar store (these spools of wire are one of my favorite things they sell! Twisty ties of any length rock!), as well as the safety pins, and possibly the buttons. To spring-ify buttons you already have on hand, hit them with a little bit of bright spray paint.
