When we hear the words “dollar store challenge,” we tend to get a little giddy. (Can you blame us?) Recently, Iron Craft issued a challenge using dollar store items, and we’ve been admiring the great projects that resulted! Kat from Just Crafty Enough (who also happens to be one of the ladies behind the fabulous Iron Craft challenges) used her dollar store finds to create these adorable, springy pincushions. Aren’t they sweet? Her dollar store items were tiny flower pots, a green microfiber cleaning cloth, and a pair of garden gloves that she cut up for the pretty, striped fabric. Heck, even if you don’t sew, they’re cute enough to use as spring decor instead! [how to make a flower pot pincushion]
Project estimate:
- Mini flower pots $1
- Microfiber cleaning cloth, $1
- Fabric, on hand or $1 and up
- Button, on hand
- Needle and thread, on hand
- Glue, on hand
- Polyfill, on hand
Total: $2 and up

I bet you could use one of those cute “fuzzy socks” for fabric too….even easier and they come in pairs!
