While they are indispensable when it comes time to whip your hair into a crazy up-do, I will admit that 99% of the time my collection of bobby pins is more likely to be found collecting dust in my bathroom cabinet. Besides securing your tresses in a French twist, what else can you do with them? Natalie from Creme de la Craft used a little paint to transform a few of them into a pair of flirty chevron earrings with a fringed, tribal feel. If chevron isn’t your favorite, try using the same technique to apply other patterns to the earrings! [how to make chevron bobby pin earrings]
Project estimate:
- Bobby pins, on hand or $1
- Paint or nail polish, on hand
- Wire, on hand

You’re pricing isn’t realistic. Granted most people creating jewelry from patterns online are bound to have wire and earring hooks, but you could at least put a price in there for those who do not have them on hand.
