This is a sponsored post, I am a Kmart Layaway blogger, though all opinions are my own.

guidecraft art desk

I have been window shopping for the holidays (already!) — how about you? What are you thinking for this year's holiday gifts? I would love to give an art corner like this to my three boys. This art desk and storage area is so cute–I like the storage shelves, and the other areas for art supplies, the roll of paper, and the little stool chairs. It just looks like it would be easy to get inspired at an art station like this. Hey, do they make these for adults? I think I need one for myself!

I found this item, along with some other great art-related items on Kmart.com, where I learned about their free layaway program. I recently compared layaway programs from various retailers over at the Dollar Store Mom article "What is Layaway?"

One of the best reasons to use layway programs is when items are too big to store until the Holidays, such as this art desk. It would be hard to hide this big box in inside my closet!

I found some other fun-looking art gifts for my kids for the holidays at the Kmart site:

kmart craft storage

Check out this art storage cart. So much art and craft supply fun stored in one rolling cart.

kmart wooden easel

Or for a smaller art corner, this double-sided wooden easel by Melissa and Doug is great. It allows two kids to get artistic at the same time, and also allows space for supplies.

kmart melissa and doug stamp kit

Kmart has a lot of affordably-priced art and craft kits for kids, too, like this card-making stamp kit. What a great way to teach kids about frugality (they make their own cards!), creativity (they get to experiment with the supplies), and also teach them to think about others (via the messages on the stamps). Like many mothers before me, I make my kids give thank you cards to their grandmas and great grandmas every birthday and holiday!

kmart spiral art kit

And as soon as I possibly can, I MUST get this Spiral Art kit. Anyone else have one of these as a child? I spent many happy hours as a kiddo making spiral after spiral with colored ball-point pens.

So, Kmart has free layaway, but how does that stack up compared to other retailers? Check out this chart:
