I love this! I was just thinking about cell phone charms and how since I moved to an iPhone, I can’t have one anymore. Off I go to check out Maize Hutton’s tutorial…

Check your phone to make sure that your jack accessory won’t interfere with normal function. I learned the hard way that inserting anything in the headphone jack of my phone overrides the audio so that I’m unable to hear anything. It was really confusing until I figured out what was happening.

You can get those plastic headphone jack shaped plugs molded from plastic instead, with a flat top for sticking whatever charm you like on it :) I made my own charm from shrink plastic, drew a tribal design with paint markers, and stuck it on with hot glue. These would not interfere with the audio, I checked!

Sherry, unfortunately, that varies from model to model. I have a stylus with one of those plastic jack plugs that I thought would keep it handy for use with a square card reader. When I plugged it into my samsung phone’s headphone jack, it bypassed the audio.
