One of the most dangerous things I have ever encountered at a craft store? A whole table of fabrics for $1 per yard. I’m usually not much of a fabric hoarder, but deals like that bring out my tendency to obsessively collect! The problem is, I end up with boxes and boxes of pretty cottons – and I very rarely sew. Since the odds of me digging into a large sewing project (like a garment or a quilt) fall squarely in the slim-to-none range, I am a big fan of super-easy projects like this infinity scarf by Stacey at The Ribbon Retreat. She used a handful of fat quarters to make her project, so if you’re a collector of those as well (*raises hand*) then you’ll definitely want to check this out! [how to make a fabric infinity scarf]
Project estimate:
- Fabric, on hand or $1 and up
- Sewing machine or needle and thread, on hand
Total: Free and up
