Don’t throw away those stained or holey t-shirts – there are so many things that you can do with the fabric! We’re big fans of t-shirt yarn around here, but you don’t have to be a knitter or a crocheter in order to use it. In fact, this is a project that anyone can do! Recycle an old t-shirt into a stylish wrap bracelet by adding some big-holed beads. Watch the video to see how it’s done, or keep scrolling for photos!
Project estimate:
- T-shirt, on hand or $1 and up
- Beads, on hand or $1 and up
- Paperclip, on hand
Total: Free and up!
Cut a one-inch strip off of the bottom of the t-shirt.
Gently pull on the strip to stretch it; the edges will curl and it will form a tube. Unfold the paperclip and loop it around the t-shirt tube so that you can use it like a needle for stringing on your beads.
Thread the beads onto the strip of t-shirt fabric. Tie off the ends of the strip to turn them into one large loop.
Wrap the loop several times around your wrist and your bracelet is done.
Try different combinations of t-shirt colors and bead types/styles for lots of different looks!
